New Standards of Identity for Honey

Doug McGinnis' family business, Tropical Blossom Honey Co., Inc., has been packing Florida and Southern Georgia honey since 1940. Today, the company ships honey and honeycomb throughout the United States as well as Japan, Saudi Arabia, Canada and the Caribbean.

Doug has served as a director or officer of the American Beekeeping Federation and the National Honey Packers and Dealers Assoc. He was a six-year member of the National Honey Board, five of those years on the Executive Committee. He served on the industry-wide committee advising FDA on the Revised Codex Standard of Identity for Honey, the Florida Standard of Identity for Honey and the National Organics Program sub-committee on honey standards.
